Position Summary                                                     

The Sr. Business Process Analyst is responsible for identifying and documenting the functional and business requirements of the PSC system.  Acting as the liaison between the business and IT groups to ensure the PSC Systems team meet the needs of the organization. As the functional point-of-contact the Sr. Business Process Analyst will ensure process integrity, implement best practices from Supply Chain and Offshore/Marine disciplines to develop f test system changes, train users, write user documentation, define reports and analyze data flows for process improvement opportunities. This position will conduct an analysis of PSC business needs as aligned to technology solutions, participate in PSC Systems related projects and assists in the development of business process and procedures.  In addition, the Sr. Business Process Analyst will monitor the quality of data entry in the system (s).  In particular, the Sr. Business Process Analyst will monitor the quality of Pacific Drilling material master and will support PSC personnel in their efforts to maintain accurate, useful data in the system. This position also evaluates existing business processes to identify and execute improvement initiatives through automation.

Position Scope

This position will identify and implement system and process improvement initiatives through automation while providing rollout and end user support the PSC team in the Houston office and in international locations.

Direct Manager/Supervisor – PSC Systems and Analytics Manager


Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree (required); Master’s Degree (preferred)
  • 3 years of PSC information system analysis experience
  • Must have 1+ years of functional SAP experience (focus on MM, IM and WM); ability to write SQL queries is preferred but not required
  • Specific knowledge of material catalogs/material masters and procure-to-pay process.  Knowledge of logistics and warehousing preferred
  • Experience with continuous improvement methodologies such as Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen etc.
  • Certification or on hand experience in one or multiple emerging automation procurements and supply chain technologies (e.g., RPA, blockchain, etc.) is preferred but not required
  • Experience in full life-cycle of automation solution implementation is strongly preferred
  • Strong skills in Excel and database management applications
  • Experience in oil and gas industry preferred
  • Possesses strong, writing, verbal communication and people influencing skills


Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities

  • Comply with Pacific Drilling Code of Conduct and supporting policies, standards, and applicable process documentation.
  • Perform all work according to agreed expectations of both internal and external customers, focus on doing things right the first time, every time and contribute actively to continual improvement activities.
  • Identify and report any quality or compliance concerns and take immediate corrective action as required (FCPA)
  • Comply with all applicable local, national and international regulations and laws
  • Troubleshoots PSC Systems; uses an understanding of system setup, interdependencies and data flow to resolve issues; works with technical resources to design, develop, test and implement resolutions, including the creation and maintenance of test scripts.
  • Identifies issues with existing audits and reports; obtains data for audits and analyses; works with technical resources to automate queries; ensures security of all data.
  • Works on system interfaces with SAP maintenance and other SAP modules.
  • Initiates and leads PSC systems related projects and develops business processes, procedures and work instructions as required.
  • Performs audits of SAP data and assists in resolving inaccuracies to ensure the integrity of the database.  In particular, Sr. Business Process Analyst is responsible for maintaining a best in class material master or catalog
  • Assists with the coordination of all interfaces to SAP system in-bound and outbound.
  • Analyzes business processes, identifying automation opportunities and assesses automation feasibility
  • Monitor the implementation of policies and procedures in all regions.
  • Functions as PSC liaison with Information Technology (IT), Finance and other groups on PSC-Systems/data related matters.
  • Functions as PSC liaison with 3rd parties: freight forwarder and strategic vendors.
  • Develops/maintains functional requirements and system documentation.
  • Recommends process or customer service improvements, innovative solutions, policy changes and/ or major variations from an established policy that must be approved by appropriate leadership prior to implementation.  Use project management skills in managing projects.
  • Advocate for global processes supported by global standard SAP solutions.
  • Performs fleet wide annual warehouse audit, assess competencies of Material Coordinators and provides on-going end user training to ensure the effective execution of standard processes and full utilization of PSC systems; assists with rollout related to new systems and initiatives.
  • Possesses comprehensive knowledge of subject matter and provides leadership, coaching, and/or mentoring to a subordinate group.

Work Environment

Office environment; Will be required to travel (both domestic and internationally) up to 15%.
